The Daily Tar Heel removes a controversial op-ed following threats towards its author

UNC’s student newspaper – the Daily Tar Heel – last month took the unusual action of removing an opinion column from its website. The column contained controversial comments about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The DTH says the writer and the writer’s family received threats. The situation has re-sparked an ongoing campus conversation about free speech.
