Stranding of physically disabled student raises concerns over UNC’s accessibility standards

A UNC first-year’s difficult ordeal earlier this month has sparked a campus discussion about accessibility. Laura Saavedra Forero found herself stranded in her room due to a broken elevator, leaving her unable to go to a doctor’s appointment. As a wheelchair user, she’s using her experience to speak out.
