UNC hopes to have net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 as part of a new climate plan

UNC has announced a new climate action plan that aims to have net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. The plan includes replacing carbon emissions with renewable energy, emphasizing sustainability and decreasing waste.

Carolina Connection’s Daniel Myrick spoke with Mike Piehler, Carolina’s Chief Sustainability Officer. He helped draft the plan and is leading its implementation.
