A one-woman show, Edges of Time, debuted this week at Playmakers Repertory Company. It tells the story of Marvel Cooke, who in 1949 became the first Black journalist to work for a white-owned newspaper.

Kyra Miles spoke with the playwright, UNC drama professor Jacqueline E. Lawton, about her inspiration and how she created a stage show in a pandemic.
