UNC cancels study-abroad programs in South Korea, leaving some students disappointed

UNC junior Kyra Miles is studying abroad at Korea University in Seoul.

The coronavirus is impacting North Carolinians abroad. UNC cancelled all study abroad programs in South Korea this week. In an email, university officials said they are extending their nonessential travel restrictions to include South Korea after announcing a similar ban on China.

One of the students affected is Greenville native Kyra Miles. She was looking forward to a semester at Korea University. She spoke with us from Korea.
