UNC remembers James Cates’ killing 49 years later

Some students and members of the community are remembering James Cates Jr., a 22-year-old black man who was fatally stabbed on UNC’s campus in a racially-charged attack in 1970.

Britney Nguyen reports that The Center for the Study of the American South hosted an event to discuss his legacy.
