The Triangle light rail project is dead. What’s next for local mass transit?

Now that GoTriangle has canceled its long-planned light rail project, commuters will have to continue relying on their own vehicles or GoTriangle bus services (WikiCommons photo).

The Durham-Orange Light Rail project went off track this week when the GoTriangle Board of Trustees voted to discontinue it. The Light Rail Project has been at the forefront of the Triangle’s transit planning since 2012.
