“Like the little brother I never had”: SMART mentoring brings college students and kids together

Here’s another story about UNC students in an unusual class. UNC’s SMART Mentoring program pairs Carolina students with at-risk kids and teenagers between the ages of 7 and 14.

It aims to help those local children, while also teaching college students about race, class, and gender.

Cee Cee Huffman reports.
