In Chapel Hill, there is no place that specializes in styling black women’s hair. Our reporter Kyra Miles says as a black woman with natural hair, she was ready to shave her head out of sheer frustration.

Recently, Kyra decided to get twists, but figuring out where to go was a process. She turned to a network of student hair stylists who work out of their dorms.
