Throughout this year, people under the age of 25 have consistently made up a large portion of North Carolina’s new registered voters. The trend was especially pronounced in March and April, when the demographic comprised 40 percent of recent registrants.
Some North Carolina Democrats are encouraged by these numbers and hoping that they translate to a higher turnout in next month’s crucial midterm elections.
