UNC professors among the first to study autism in older adults

April is Autism Awareness month, but there’s an entire field of autism still relatively unknown. Two UNC researchers have been working to fix that.

Laura Klinger is the executive director of UNC’s TEACCH Autism program. Joseph Piven is the director of the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. Both have been researching how aging affects people with autism, and both are here to tell us about their work in this new field.
