UNC students pushing against the wind

By Blake Morgan

Gusts of wind were responsible for toppling chairs, blowing papers and even tangling hair (Blake Morgan/Carolina Connection).

High winds hit the Chapel Hill area Friday with some gusts up to 50 mph. Trees toppled all over town; one of them closed East Franklin Street near campus for several hours. Some neighborhoods lost power, and passengers had to be rescued from a Chapel Hill Transit bus after a power line fell on it.  There were some less severe consequences as well.

Blake Morgan spoke with some students about how a windy day affected their routines.
