On State Fair’s 150th anniversary, alcohol consumption is now allowed

The Ferris wheel and other rides are back at the N.C. State Fair, and there’s also something new: alcohol will be served for the first time in the fair’s 150 year history. (Rachel Bridges/Carolina Connection)

The North Carolina State Fair kicked off Thursday, and it’ll be open until next Sunday. There are some new things to do at the Fair, and a few more things to consume – beer and wine.
