A new survey by the Brookings Institution in Washington finds that one in five college students believe physical violence against speakers who make hurtful statements is acceptable.
This is a particularly timely finding as First Amendment Day is commemorated at UNC this Tuesday. The School of Media and Journalism will host various speakers throughout that day.
