U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has announced plans to phase out the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — or DACA. That policy was made during the Obama Administration, and it protects undocumented people who were brought to the U.S. as children. There are an estimated eight-hundred-thousand DACA recipients living, working and studying in the U.S… with twenty-seven-thousand in North Carolina alone.

CORRECTION: The broadcast version of this story and an earlier version of this web story incorrectly referred to DACA as the “Deferred Action for Childhood Act.”
