Cooper and legislators seek to incentivize new teachers

High school students in North Carolina are losing interest in becoming teachers at a faster rate than the rest of the nation. This has led to a teacher shortage and increasing teacher turnover. Both Governor Roy Cooper and the Republican-led legislature proposed incentives for young teachers that include loan forgiveness.
