Tuesday, the Trump administration wrote a letter to public schools revoking federal guidelines concerning transgender students. The guidelines enacted by the Obama administration protected students’ rights to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity. The Obama administration said violations of the guidelines could be considered gender discrimination.
On the other hand, President Trump’s new policies assert that the matter is best left up to state and local governments.
