The Trump administration is taking an aggressive stance on immigration – a stance that gives the federal government full authority to find, arrest and deport undocumented immigrants.
Unlike the Obama Administration, which targeted its enforcement efforts on immigrants who committed crimes, the new policy subjects more people to possible deportation.
It says the federal government will publicize crimes committed by undocumented immigrants and encourage the participation of local law enforcement in the deportation process.
President Trump’s policies aren’t surprising. They echo some of the promises he made during his campaign. But even though immigrants aren’t surprised, they are scared.
