Carnegie Deli, an iconic eatery in New York City known for its piles of pastrami, closed its doors for good in 2016. Dozens of family owned delis from New York to L.A. have suffered the same fate. But the legacy of Jewish food is alive and well somewhere you may not expect — the South.
