UNC professor: Distrust sparks traffic stops and police violence

UNC political science professor Frank Baumgartner has conducted research about race and traffic stops. He’s found that black male drivers in North Carolina are more likely to have their car searched.

Carolina Connection’s John Thomas spoke with him this week. Baumgartner said his data on traffic stops also relates to issues of police violence.
