Durham County DA will seek death penalty for Hicks

by Nick Latman

It’s been almost a month since the UNC community was shocked by the deaths of three young people:  Deah Barakat, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha. This week, the Durham County District Attorney’s office said that it will seek the death penalty for 46-year-old Craig Stephen Hicks, the alleged killer.

Colon Willoughby, former district attorney for neighboring Wake County, joined us to discuss the case. He’s currently a lawyer at McGuire-Woods.
