In a pilot program, Raleigh will dispatch mental health clinicians to some 911 calls, instead of police

Raleigh is now prioritizing mental health in its emergency response tactics. The initiative is part of the Raleigh CARES program, which is designed to offer a more compassionate and comprehensive approach to policing- and bring resources to members of the local community.
