Thousands in N.C. show solidarity with monks’ Walk for Peace

Last week, the Buddhist Walk for Peace passed through the Triangle on its way to Washington, D.C. The monks’ 2,300-mile journey, which began in Fort Worth, Texas, aims to gain federal recognition for a Buddhist holiday. The group was welcomed by local officials and hundreds of supporters who brought gifts and bowed their heads in respect.
