Gamers are often exposed to extremist content, but players say there are ways to avoid the rabbit hole

The killing of Charlie Kirk has focused attention on the culture of online gaming. But even before that, studies have shown that gamers are increasingly likely to be exposed to extremist content online.  A 2023 study from NYU found 51 percent of gamers were exposed to that kind of content in online multiplayer games.
