In the days after Helene, a student radio station became a lifeline

After Helene tore through Western North Carolina, towns across the region faced widespread destruction and loss. Local media, including WASU-FM, a student-run radio station at Appalachian State University, stepped in to provide vital information and support.

Hannah Adams looks at how WASU became a leader during such a devastating time.
