In the past year, a substantial increase of hate crimes against Asian Americans has plagued the country. Last week, a gunman killed eight people in Atlanta, six of them Asian American women. In response to the shootings, Asian Americans and their allies have gathered together to hold vigils and rallies all over the country.
Last Sunday, the UNC Campus Y hosted an Asian American Share Circle and Vigil, and Carolina Connection’s Isaac Klein was there.
