UNC plan would keep Silent Sam on campus in new $5.3 million building

The Confederate monument Silent Sam may be receiving a new home on UNC’s campus.

Chancellor Carol Folt and the UNC Board of Trustees have recommended that the monument, which was toppled by protesters in August, be placed in a new, free-standing building on campus.

Ashley Mills reports.
