New voter ID law likely will allow student IDs at the polls

During the midterm elections, North Carolina passed a constitutional amendment requiring voters to present photo IDs at the polls. Now the state legislature is deciding what kind of IDs will be accepted.

A previous law that was struck down by the courts excluded student IDs. Judges ruled that it discriminated against minorities.
