Repeal of HB2 brings big games back to North Carolina

Another thing for North Carolina sports fans to celebrate:  The NBA announced that Charlotte will once again be eligible to host the All-Star game in 2019 following the repeal of House Bill 2.  The NCAA and ACC also have ended their boycotts of hosting athletic events in North Carolina.  

But some critics are still unhappy about the compromise that led to the repeal of the notorious bathroom bill.

Ezra Baeli-Wang is UNC senior and Chair of the ACC Student Athletic Advisory Committee. He’s been a vocal critic of HB2 since it was introduced. He joins us now to discuss what the repeal and compromise means for athletics in the state.
