UNC officials are trying to assure students that the University investigates cases of sexual assault thoroughly. Chancellor Carol Folt released a statement Friday responding to allegations from a sophomore student who claims she was raped on campus in February.  The student says neither the university nor the district attorney is taking her case seriously.

A lawyer for the man she accused of the attack, UNC football player Allen Artis, calls the allegation “unfair, unkind and untrue.”
