Theater meets fundraising goal

It looks like the Varsity Theatre will continue to show popular movies on Franklin Street. Since the landmark theater launched its ‘Go digital or go dark’ campaign in mid-December, it raised $50,000. The money will go towards a digital projector. Without it, the theater would have been forced to close. But as Jimmy Wylie reports, the community wasn’t about to let the theatre lose its light.

  1. Heard he has a great face for radio as well. Love to hear about these old theaters keeping their place in the community! Excellent spot, hope it helps the cause!
