UNC tells new mothers, “breast is best”

Breastfeeding might seem like one of the most natural things mother’s can do for their babies, but only about 75 percent of American women choose to nurse.

UNC Women’s Hospital is one of seventeen maternity centers nationwide that’s part of an initiative called the “Breastfeeding Friendly Designation Program,” which establishes a ten-step support system for mothers before and after birth.
