New downtown bars heat up competition

A new night club opened this week, Club Pulse , an 18 plus dance club on Rosemary Street. Another bar called Front Porch opened a couple weeks ago. Contrast those with PT’s and Mansion, two downtown bars that have closed in the past year. Many bars and nightclubs on Franklin and Rosemary streets have been hit hard by the economic recession. But that has created opportunities for new ones, and some owners say business is turning up.
