UNC leaders question new admission program

Both UNC System President Margaret Spellings and the Board of Governors are expressing concern about a plan the Legislature passed last year. It’s designed to help North Carolina students get into a four-year university as long as they go to community college first.

Yesterday, Spellings called on the legislature to delay the North Carolina Guaranteed Admission Program.  Board members say they’re worried the plan will hurt minority students and fail to accomplish its goals.
