UNC evaluates buildings, monuments that honor southern past

UNC officials are considering whether to rename a campus building that honors a 19th century Ku Klux Klan leader. The Board of Trustees is scheduled to discuss the name of Saunders Hall at its meeting next week.

It’s part of a broader effort by UNC’s administration to evaluate both building names and campus monuments that honor traditional southern history.
