Smith devoted life to fighting for equality, civil rights

In 1962, Coach Dean Smith sat down to eat with a young African-American theology student at a segregated restaurant in Chapel Hill. The meal would help jumpstart the town towards integration.

Smith’s good friend and former pastor Robert Seymour was also a part of that dinner. He joined us to talk about Coach Smith’s passion for civil rights.
